Frequently Asked Questions

What does an interior designer actually do?

We do a lot more than just pick out pretty things. At Aesthetics Home Interiors, we manage your project from concept to completion — developing layouts, selecting finishes and furnishings, overseeing installation, and ensuring your space feels functional, intentional, and uniquely you.

How much do your services cost?

Every project is different, so our pricing varies based on scope, scale, and specific needs. We offer flat-fee and hourly billing options, depending on the type of service. During our discovery call, we’ll walk you through the investment and help you determine the best path forward for your space and budget.

Do you help with renovations or just furnishing?

We do both! Whether you’re updating finishes or reworking the entire layout, we provide space planning and finish selection for renovations as well as full furnishing and styling services. We often collaborate with contractors to ensure the design is executed as planned.

How long does an interior design project take?

Timelines vary depending on the scope, but most projects take between 8–20 weeks from start to install. Custom furniture, construction, and material lead times can all affect the duration. We’ll outline a projected timeline during your design proposal so you know exactly what to expect.

Can you help define my style if I don’t know what I want?

Yes — and that’s one of our favorite things to do. Through conversation, visuals, and guided prompts, we help you uncover what resonates with you. Many clients come to us unsure, and leave with a space that feels like an authentic extension of who they are.

What’s included when I hire you?

Our full-service design includes concept development, space planning, finish selections, custom furniture sourcing, project management, and styling. We can also tailor our services if you're only looking for specific support — like furniture curation or kitchen design.

How involved will I need to be?

That’s totally up to you. Some clients want to collaborate closely, others prefer a more hands-off experience. We keep communication clear and consistent either way, so you're always informed but never overwhelmed.

Can you help me source everything, or do I need to shop myself?

We handle sourcing from start to finish — from trade-only vendors to trusted retail partners. You won't need to shop around unless you'd like to. We provide curated options that match your aesthetic and budget, and manage ordering, tracking, and installation for a seamless experience.

What is it like working with a boutique design studio?

Working with Aesthetics Home Interiors means receiving highly personalized attention and a collaborative design experience from start to finish. As a boutique studio, we intentionally take on a select number of clients at a time — allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in your project, honor your story, and deliver creative, thoughtful solutions with heart.

Our process starts with a conversation, followed by an in-person consultation at your home. During this visit, we’ll walk through your space, take measurements and photos, and begin defining the scope of work. Whether you're looking to refresh your furniture, redesign your kitchen, or just need help pulling everything together — we're here to guide you every step of the way.

From project concept to completion, we handle the details so you don’t have to. Most projects include space planning, mood boards, finish and material selection, custom furniture sourcing, and — depending on scope — scaled floorplans, elevations, 3D renderings, or modeling. Every project is tailored to your needs, style, and goals — with a clear roadmap and open communication throughout.

Do you offer virtual design services?

Yes, we do offer remote design for clients outside Orange County. While full-service projects are typically local, virtual consultations, design plans, and furniture sourcing are available for clients anywhere!

How is an interior designer different from a decorator?

Great question! While decorators focus on surface aesthetics (furniture, color, styling), interior designers are trained in space planning, interior architecture, and structural details. We create interiors from the inside out — including kitchens, bathrooms, and custom solutions that go far beyond décor.

Do I have to redesign everything at once?

Not at all. Many of our clients approach their homes in phases — starting with the rooms that matter most. Whether you need help with one space or a whole-home plan, we’re happy to scale our services to meet your needs.

Do you design kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes — we specialize in space planning and finish selection for kitchens, bathrooms, and other interior architectural elements. From layout changes to cabinet finishes and tile selection, we’ll help you make choices that are both beautiful and functional.

Can you create custom furniture?

Yes! Custom furniture is one of our specialties. We work with trusted U.S. manufacturers and local artisans to create bespoke pieces — whether it's a built-in banquette, a perfectly scaled sectional, or a dining table made just for your space.

What if I don’t like the design?

Design is a process — and collaboration is key. We guide you through every step and make space for your feedback throughout. Our goal is always to deliver a space you love — not just visually, but emotionally.

Do you offer eco-friendly or sustainable design options?

Yes. We’re committed to sourcing responsibly where possible — including low-VOC finishes, sustainably harvested woods, and American-made or vintage furnishings. If sustainability is a priority for you, we’ll tailor your design accordingly.

Can you work with what I already own?

Absolutely. We love incorporating meaningful pieces — whether it’s a family heirloom, a vintage find, or your favorite lounge chair. Part of our process is learning what matters to you and building around it.
